You will not be able to make this giraffe stand up. They way it is make, it will have to sit in the position as shown. I need this item but I would hate to order and the neck is bent and the giraffee can’t sit up** A: The giraffe is "not" defective at all!! My giraffe's neck was also bent when I received it however after gently examining it I found that there is apparently a flexible wire extending vertically within the neck. After I carefully smoothed up the neck smoothing out the wire the neck is perfect. My giraffe sits up perfectly with a perfectly straight neck. I don't understand why the business packages them with the neck bent because after I straightened out the neck I tried fitting it back in the packaging box that way and it fit perfectly. So I don't see any reason for it to be bent at all.
