They have a light smell but I left them out of the bag, as per the e-mail I received from the seller, and the smell is almost gone. I like the colors and the shapes. The bag was shipped with other items i ordered but it was interesting to note that the bag looks like it seen some hard times and was pre squished hardcore before getting to me but i still am happy with it overall. My own kid was naturally hoping for cute animals and received three. That's what we get for trusting an "assortment." But what's worse, is what you can see in the yellow cat pics. The very few we ordered that came with cute faces, have deep imprints of the face that don't come close to lining up with the black ink. Finally, my 12 year old wanted these as charms. These arrived yesterday and here's what the panda looks like one day later. The face is almost completely rubbed off.
