To burn designs the full length of the belt, you will need to use registration marks so you can line up each section. The unit has a preview mode that casts light down to show exactly where the design will be burned, so this is easier than it may sound. With the rolling base, you might even be able to burn the whole design at once, provided you are able to get it to grip and move it reliably; this would likely work, if you leave the reverse side a bit rough.
