The SiDiary software works, I was having issues getting data from the Walmart ReliOn Prime monitor, and changed the device selection in the SiDiary application to the Arkay GLUCOCARD Vital ( Arkay is the manufacturer for the ReliOn Prime, and it seems to be the identical device - except for the device case). **Q: Any macos software available for this?** A: Yes. Tidepool works with this cable under Mac OS https://www.tidepool.org/download **Q: Can i use a standard usb cord for a relion prime unit..or is there something special about the usb cord they sell? for 25.00** A: A standard USB will not work. The cable has special circuitry (see the IC chip) to interface with the RJ jack on the meter. Worked great. ### ⭐ Does Not Fit Glococard Expression Meter *by T***I on February 19, 2025* Cable end did not fit the Glococard Express Meter so I was not able to download my medical information ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ High quality cable, just works with SiDiary *by A***R on July 25, 2021* Yeah, it's pricey for a USB to serial cable, but it's cheaper than buying a generic real FTDI cable and the 2.5mm connector to hack in, and less work also. It's physically the highest quality cable like this I own.I bought this for the more or less disposable $9 Relion Prime meters (used on the road due to ubiquitous strip-for-cash availability at the W store) but I am going to make an adapter for my Lifescan One Touch meters as well which are 3.5mm. Making an adapter is half the cost of another specialty USB cable. That should tell you that making these specialty cables does cost a bit more.Like I said, real FTDI chip. No issues with drivers on Win 10 and Linux.In the case of the Relion Prime meter, it's the same as the Arkray Glucocard Vital and the Menarini Glucocard Vital... The only software out there that knows the protocol is SiDiary. And the manufacturer software which is even more awkward. SiDiary is very awkward but it seems to do what it needs to and the Adware isn't that intrusive. It will intermix data from both types of meters I have so I will live with the quirks.Overall good, if not expensive, purchase. (there's the "Value for money" suggestion). I do think it's reasonable to price this as it is as its pretty confusing to try to find technical data for any meter, but especially the Arkray/Relion.Tip=RX in to FTDI, ring=TX from FTDI. 3.3V TTL. Shank is GND.
