I have used these quite a few times. Let me say, the "frame" around the top of the mold has a metal insert and that is the key to these little cuties. You have something to push against to get the cubes out. I feared they would be hard to get out - but no - they are perfect. I freeze soups in them and store the cubes in a ziplock bag with the name on it. Also, the lids really do prevent leaks. I had one shift after I stuck it in the freezer and the contents kind spread across the top. But didn't leak out because the lid kept it in the mold area.
