You must reuse your existing plastic (nylon) heater core to firewall connector pipes. This unit has nice exact pads for the pipes seals to mount on, which is important, because you must install the pipes with the unit installed into its slots, e.g., you must attach the pipes under the dash. (To replace on the Maxima or i30), you pull the A/C system Evaporator box entirely, which leaves the heater core box exposed on one side (the passenger side wall). That allows you to unscrew the four screws per pipe on the two pipes, rotate them, and remove them, then remove the heater core.The unit only gets 4 stars instead of 5 stars because it does not come with any anti-vibe foam like the original, and users want that to avoid noisy vibrations. I found such foam same day at Home Depot (in the door jam/door foam surround section), and I am sure Amazon also sells it. Install your new self-stick foam to your unit in the same pattern as the original, then slide it all the way into the box. Then reinsert the pipes into firewall, rotate them and line the up on the heater core (that's where the nice pads on this unit is key, you can feel it when it seats properly) and then screw in the four screws on the pipe. Then repeat on the lower pipe. Hookup the hoses and hose clamps in the engine bay, then reinstall the evaporator box for the A/C.
