Love it Review: Very smooth, talc-free eyeshadow - The quality of these shadows is amazing. A lot of talc-free shadows are really chalky, but these apply and blend really smoothly. They play well with each other and with other brands of eyeshadow that I have. With a good eye primer (necessary for hooded/deepset eyes), I have no complaints about longevity. With 4 medium shade of varying undertone and one dark shade, the Baked Browns II colorway is ideal for a mild smokey eye with soft winged liner for me. There isn't a plausible blending shade for me in this palette (I'm very pale) but the shades blend so easily that I don't find this to be a handicap with this palette at all. Cons: (1) I wish the darkest shade were black, or at least more muted/neutral than the warmer chocolate shade it is. This diminishes the versatility that could be achieved through blending. (2) The brush that the palette comes with is pretty useless in my opinion, but that's typical for any brush that comes in a palette. Soft, pigmented, easy to blend *by L***Y on November 11, 2022* This comes in a nice outer product box. The shade names are on the back of the box and palette, along with ingredients. It is cruelty free, paraben free, talc free, and gluten free. It is made in the USA. The palette has a matte, kind of rubber feel on the front. Not sure what exactly it is, but it’s smooth. It is a tan color. The back has the shade names. Inside the palette the lid has a mirror that is the full size of the mirror. There is a dual-ended brush included. One end is a small blending brush, the other is a small pointed pencil brush. It is made of plastic and really thin. The hairs are soft. The brush works, but it definitely isn’t a high end brush. I always find that usually the brushes included with palettes aren’t that great, but they work. This is an all matte palette. The mattes are soft, smooth, and pigmented. There’s a lot of kickback in the pan, but I never really mind that. Usually, when I see that, they end up being easy to blend, which was the case with these. They apply easily, with great pigment, but are easy to blend out. There is a nice variation in the shades - for me there is a light shade that can be used as a transition shade or to blend out other shades. There’s 2 that can be used as a crease shade or lid shades. Then there’s 2 deeper shades that can be used to deepen things up. I like when a palette has that kind of variation. I like browns. They’re great for everyday looks. I usually like shimmers on my lid so I wouldn’t normally go for an all matte palette. But, I have other Dose of Colors palettes like these and like their formula. This is a great palette to pair with my all shimmer palettes. It’s small and compact so it doesn’t take up much room, but it gives me everything I need for my mattes - light, mid, and dark shades. Overall, this is a beautiful palette. The packaging is beautiful. It’s small and compact. It feels really nice. The mattes perform amazing. They are soft, smooth, pigmented, and blend easily. If this is a color story that you love, this would be a great palette to get. I thought $32 (at the time of writing this review) was pretty pricey for a 5 pan palette, but then when I broke it down per shade, it was only $6.40 a shade, which doesn’t seem too bad.
