Just mix some powder with cold water and add to your pan. It contains flour, so it thickens up quickly if you simmer the sauce. I prefer my sauce less gummy, so add extra water or broth. It makes a good chip shop curry sauce for dipping chips or anything else. I'm not sure where the "extra hot" description comes from. It was a mild to medium sauce for me. I thought it might actually be too hot, but it's medium at best.
