The only drawback is that a minimum quantity of water is necessary for the heating element to reach boiling temperature. The more dried herbs in the mix, the less water is required. The minimum quantity of water needed at the start is from 3 to 4 cups (24 to 32 ounces). It is easy to strain the liquid out and easy to clean afterwards.
