I have used this product on shoes and hats. It has done a good job of waterproofing. It also had not damaged the objects in any way.

i got this for my suede boots to protect them from salt and dirty water, and it worked like a charm! when salt gathered on them i could literally just wipe it away with my hand. it also didn't discolor my boots which i was happy about. i can't think of any cons, just buy it! :)

I love this protector because it sprays on with a very fine mist and never changes the color of the leather I'm protecting which seems to be the main complaint in competing brands. It may be slightly darker for a minute or two but this stuff dries SO quick that it's already back to it's natural color. You only have to wait an hour before reapplying the next coat. I would give this a five star rating because it's that good but because it doesn't go very far for what you pay for it. I was only able to get 2 coats out of this can after spraying a leather Lucky brand backpack purse which is 12x12x4. The purchased this brand one other time before to use on a pair of light colored, suede leather shoes for my daughter. I put 3 coats on the shoes being they were lighter colored. I had a small amount left and used it to put the first coat on the backpack however I was only able to cover front and back before the can ran out which is why I purchased it once again to finish the job. One thing to pay attention to while spraying is the red mark they put near the spray nozzle, make sure to keep the nozzle opening pointed towards the red mark and you will get no sputters. The nozzle tends to move as you're spraying around an item. I believe that for $13, they should at least give the customer 10.5 oz can instead of a 5.5 oz can. I did my research before purchasing this protector the first time and this one came out on top so if you want a good protector that doesn't change the color of the leather/suede and don't mind spending more for less because it's worth it in the long run, then this is the protector you want to get.

Grabbed this for a brand new pair of taupe Birkenstocks. They were sprayed unworn. I packed them with newspaper to avoid creases and fogged two solid coats an hour or so apart. The initial spray will make the look like they will darken but as it dries it will lighten back to the original color. After two sprays and a 24 hours to cure I brushed them and they look dead stock with an invisible barrier. Very happy with it. Works for this fickle suede so it should work for anything.

I bought this to use on my new Birkenstock clogs. I got the taupe suede color and was very nervous about adding a spray to them! After reading the reviews on this particular one I decided to go for it and am so glad I did. I did one coat all around and let it dry for an hour. Then I did a second coat and let that dry. Then it was good to go! We live on a farm and so there’s a lot of dirt, rain, and all the things. I’ve been so shocked and happy that the spray has protected them from all the things, even a toddler spilling some coffee on them!

If you follow the directions, you will apply 2 coatings to make it water repellent. It takes approximately 1 hr to dry and does not change the color of the suede. I used it on a pair of western boots, and, when I got finished with the 2nd coat, the spray can was empty.
