It is perfect for a 10-lb cat who quickly learnt how to pick her food out of the bowl. The bowl is so deep that the cat could not eat her food directly by mouth. I am talking about dry food. It is interesting that the center of the bowl bottom is a little bit higher, so you put the her meal in the center. It doesn't have the little grippers on the bottom that the expensive one does, but it's the same size and the plastic seems to be just as sturdy. It does slow her down, a little.
