It's easier to electroform the part than to remove the chrome, which takes days, powerful chemicals and only partial results. Moreover, I am left with something it either steel or aluminum, which can be difficult to electroplate depending on the plating solution. It's easier to electroform the part, especially if it looks exactly as it did before. Moreover, you bath plate the part in copper. Once you have a good copper coat, you can plate anything onto copper: gold, brass, finish copper, nickel, etc. Anything will stick to copper. This is a great product, but you have to know what you are doing to use it to it's full effect. If you have any questions, you might call them. They seem very helpful and friendly.
