This new one is very quiet and I had no problem giving it to work. I just hope it lasts longer than the first one I had. It just started going out for no reason. After about a year. But the good thing to know is that many of those take the same pump motor and filters. So in the event of a motor failure, being able to purchase another pump is of paramount importance.After 9 months of continuous usage, one of my water fountain pumps failed. At first, not realizing that the pump motors can be found anywhere, I was all ready just to purchase an entire new water fountain. However, I looked at the motor designation number and I typed it in on the Amazon search bar and wallaaaaaa - many motor options appeared. All were mostly the same motor design and choosing one just meant you picked one that fit your price range.So I ordered this particular pump and all works perfectly. They even provide an extra impeller blade in the event that the one in the motor goes bad (which my original one did).
