Review: Wonderful skeleton, great detail and loads of fun to put together. A very good buy! - This skeleton is just about the best thing you can buy, and the price is reasonable for the quality you get. I'll talk about the assembly, the details and the intended use of this product. The assembly was super easy, all the bones come numbered in such a way that is inconspicuous when the item is assembled. The product has a single solid bar of aluminum that anchors the vertebrae, skull and pelvis. The parts fit together so nicely that you can easily tell if you slid a bone on backward. There are four bags of bones that correspond to four major parts of the skeletal assembly, just slide the bones on in ascending or descending numerical order! I was able to pit this thing together in about 15 minutes and it was fun to see how all the bones fit together to create the skeleton. The detail of the product is spectacular, some people call it "museum quality"; close enough -but I wouldn't exactly say that. The details of the bones and the color scheme chosen makes it look incredibly realistic, almost as though you own an authentic baby rex skeleton! When the whole thing is assembled and viewed from a step back, you cannot see the plastic mold seams -giving credibility to the realism. Upon closer inspection you can see that the surface of the bones are textured plastic with a seam here or there, but once again, this item does not come off as a toy at first sight, you'd think this was part of a miniature exhibit. The obvious intention of this item is for educational and of course, entertaining purposes. The skeleton can be easily disassembled and re-assembled numerous times, allowing students or amateur paleontologists to really get a feel for the architecture of the skeleton, and how each bone plays its part. There are a handful of small bones that could possibly be swallowed by an infant, namely a few neck vertebrae, but for the most part the bones are large enough to handle easily, sections of the end of the tail are pre-formed vertebrae to insure the least amount of small parts necessary. This product is perfect for the ages listed in the description, and the fact that the whole skeleton "rests" on its base rather than "fits" onto it, allows for the handler to simply pick up the skeleton and handle it, then set the toes into their pre-forms in the rock base (which is hollow plastic, but very sturdy) -just keep it out of reach of bumping or nudging it, because the entire skeleton will just flop right off of its base, its heavy enough to possibly do minor damage to other objects, so just keep it in an area where the only time you touch it, is when you intend to handle it. The entire skeleton is very sturdy when assembled, especially if the end-cap bones such as the tail or the skull are fitted tightly onto the aluminum frame, keeping the vertebrae and ribs secured. Honestly if I were a high school teacher or something, this skeleton is perfect for educating students about dinosaurs, especially T. rex. I keep this thing on my glass coffee table, it appears close to model-detail-quality and fits perfectly among other artifacts and models I collect. I highly recommend this!
Review: Large and in charge! - This is a phenomenal display piece—a very detailed, quite large (three feet long and a bit under two feet high) model of the Tyrannosaurus Rex's skeleton. Any dinosaur fan should have this on display SOMEWHERE in their house... along with the Brachiosaurus skeleton produced by the same company, of course. Putting it together was fairly easy, too. All the parts are discretely numbered (in places unseen when the product is assembled) and the construction is simple enough that all you really need is the diagram included in the box, which shows the completed skeleton with individually-numbered bones. Assemble the legs, assemble the pelvis, slide all the spine and rib stuff in, stick the tail and head in, connect legs, connect arms to those little holes in the ribcage, and... stick this sucker on his display stand! The stand doesn't even really snap into the feet, either. The skeleton balances perfectly on the stand when fully assembled, just keep in mind that it's not SECURED to the stand when you try to move it around. The only difficulty I had, and I'm not sure this was a problem with the product in general or if I just was unlucky enough to have a piece that was slightly "off" in engineering, but one side of the pelvis really did not want to be inserted into the midsection. I had to lean my full weight onto the piece to get it to go in. In it did go, though, and I'm very satisfied with the completed model. Worth mentioning: you can probably disassemble most of the model if you really need to for some reason, but that pelvis is not coming apart once it's put together. Anyway... my inner dino nut is squealing in delight right now. Very cool!

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Is this the wacky lab t rex?**
A: Just watched a YouTube video on this one. Appears to be much less wobbly than the Elenco model. If I was going to redo my buy, I would buy the wacky lab model since they basically look the same when complete.

**Q: I too have a question about the shelf, I see how long the base, but I was wanting a shelf to be approx. 4" out from the wall, would that work?**
A: No. I have the model almost parallel to the wall. The base does have an odd shape, but to get it to sit comfortably it comes out about 11 inches. Mine sits on a book case exactly 12 inches deep and it works perfectly like that.

**Q: Age appropriate level**
A: My son is Ten years old, he used the T-Rex for a Science Fair Proyect and It was excellent! This can be used from any age between 8 and 12.

**Q: What is is made out of? Is it durable? I am wanting to stick it in concrete at the bottom of a sandbox as something to discover when digging in the sand.**
A: It's made of relatively soft plastic. Consequently it's not brittle at all but on the other hand pieces like ribs could be torn. I think digging it could be ok but the mix needs to be very soft. Not concrete based. There is also a metallic rod to give a structure from skull to tail. Hope this helps.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Quality model, realistic looking, and fun.
*by T***D on February 21, 2018*

What a terrific project to occupy the grandchildren during sleepovers. This T-Rex comes in a nice cardboard box, with 51 pieces, display stand, and instructions. The pieces are a heavy duty plastic, numbered on each piece and identified with the pictured assembly instuctions. It can be a bit of a challenge to put together but nothing terribly complicated. It says it is for children 8 years old and older and I'd have to agree that. My assistance was only needed a couple times, to get them started as it has to be put together in a specific order on a metal rod, and the other to help identify a piece. No biggy. Once assembled it can be placed in the provided display stand and I was pleasantly surprised at how realistic this looked as well as the size of it. The model doesn't lock in to the stand and can be knocked over easily so if anyone plans on keeping it together and on display, certainly place it somewhere there is no real risk of bumping into it. I was relieved at the quality of this model and it would make a fantastic gift for kids of all ages. I highly recommend and would purchase again. I hope this helps and in the attached pics I used a AA battery for reference.
