A: No problem with mildew, the pillow that comes with it can be thrown in the garbage. The hammock itself is fine

**Q: I assembled this hammock but there is no way to tighten the screws that hold the hooks. The screws slide back and forth in the holes. Is this safe?**
A: It's safe, those are to hold the hammock. You don't want them tight

**Q: what is the bed size?**
A: about 8 ft

**Q: Will rain ruin this product? or before a storm will I have to put it away?**
A: You could leave it out. I take mine in so it doesn't discolor or not sure if wind would blow it
