The instructions recommend that you remove the back half of the watch and then remove this plate to install the new one, however I was able to leave my watch assembled and easily remove the back plate and get it cleaned up before putting on the new one. Very straightforward process. The only thing that I did not like about this kit was the tool to remove the screws they sent was a small screwdriver, not anything close to the unique triangle shape for the screw head that's in the watch. Quality product and saves you from having to buy a new smartwatch. As I ruined my watch (wearing it while swimming). The adhesive was not water-tight! A mistake on my part. The YouTube instructions could be more precise, in my opinion.
