We also would not advise doing this because it would damage the fabric potentially and not provide full UPF 50+ protection. **Q: is the mask tight on the nose part? i wanna use it over makeup. thank you** A: the makeup will come off on the mask. **Q: Does it have to go over the head?** A: No, there are two snaps at back neck for adjustability. **Q: does the UV protection come from chemicals or just the fabric?** A: It depends on the fabric. Zno is my favorite a cotton/bamboo fabriic infused with zinc or titanium. You'll have to read Coolibar's description for each type of fabric. Down side is that its a little pricey. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Does the job *by T***Z on 27 May 2023* I bought it because I like hiking and was annoyed at using so much sunscreen. It does the job. I use it with a 3d mask holder. It lets me breath better (I think). As expected it is a little annoying and better for cooler weather. Still, I think it's better than slathering your face every 2 hours with greasy sunscreen. Also, you always know you are protected (unlike sunscreen where you might have missed a spot or scratched/sweated off the sunscreen). It, obviously, also protects against blue light.
