Review: Well made and hopefully safe. Others might not be. - This was recommended by a chef I admire. I was going to get a cheaper one, but realised it is best to go with a well known brand when the item might explode in your hand! Some of the cheaper ones had scary reviews. I would rather have an intact hand than the £25 I would have saved.

I have contacted Iwatani and they have made it clear that they have no affiliation with this other company. I bought this specifically because I had seen recommendations for the Iwatani PRO2. This product appears similar, but because it is actually manufactured by a different company, there is no guarantee that it will offer the same performance or safety characteristics.

A: It says Iwatani on the torch I bought.

**Q: Can the torch work with other brand’s butane fuel?**
A: Does the refill have to have a notched rim, I purchased another brand and it will not sit down tight to torch.

**Q: How do I remove the can once its done?**
A: about a 90 degree twist.... the exact same way you installed it

**Q: What brand and size of butane gas should i buy to use with this for best results?**
A: You can find 8 oz. stove butane cans at most decent hardware stores.  They are often found in the camping section.  You can also find them on Amazon, the price is great if you need a dozen.

Just finished talking to an Amazon associate who assured me this was genuine Iwatani by pasting the product description into the chat. I'm not convinced. I've had it just under a year. I've only used it a handful of times to light paper in my BBQ chimney starter and to burn leftover feathers off chicken thigh pieces. Despite LIGHT use the gas/flame regulator is non-responsive and gas won't even flow out of it, so I can't light it up. Maybe that's for the best.
