**Q: can you use a split copper speaker wire to connect from an old school amplifier to the speakers?**
A: Yes if you have the spring stab type connector on the amplifier + and -. That is what is on the back of the speakers. You just need to strip back bare wire for the connection. If your amplifier has what they call RC connectors. They are usually Red + white - just plug them in at the amp. Then you only have to strip back a connection at he speakers they too are red + and white -.

**Q: can these speakers work with the audio-techica at-lp60 usb turntable**
A: Answering late...for others needing help - you need active speakers to connect directly to the turntable otherwise you will need to connect the turntable & these speakers to an amplifier.

**Q: Do these have a screw hole in the back for mounting on a speaker stand?**
A: Yes and they come with wall mounting brackets for hanging the speakers on the wall.

**Q: what do they sound like listening to music, mostly rock & jazz?**
A: They are great for any music. I have them connected to my surround sound system and play movies , music, etc.  They can take a lot of power too, I was really impressed by that.

Wow is what I have to say about these speakers. I ordered these having little faith in how good they were considering the price point. I was blown away how good these were.First off, I was expecting a plastic speaker box, nope solid wood. Pressboard but its wood. Wood vs Plastic.. Wood always has better acoustics. I can turn up the volume up pretty high and I do not get any distortion or any vibrations (as you would with plastic)I bought these to use with a cheap Yamaha S202 basic receiver in my bedroom. Mostly to watch TV in bed at a low volume using the A/B speaker selection so a set of speakers near the head of the bed would activate.I bought two sets of these. One for the front and one for the back. They work perfectly for this application, voices and music are clear and can be heard at low volumes.My only real complaint is that there's virtually no bass at all with these. I don't mind too much with my bedroom TV application, but would not work where music was the primary source (unless you don't listen to music with any bass).But its not really a good complaint because these work fabulous as satellite speakers with a 5.1, you would just need to add a seperate bass kicker.Overall, these are a great buy for price point, and I will probably buy a few more to finish out my 'whole house' audio system and use these speakers in each room.

Probably not 200 watts capable like it says, but gent haven’t blown yet so that’s a plus.I set these up in a small 2.1 system with a smaller subwoofer and used the mounts that came with them. They do NOT stay in position and are almost worth knocking down a star because of it, but it’s a small nitpick and they are a good value so 5/5 is still fair.

These are exactly what I was looking for. I had a air of old JBL surround speakers set up as the surround L/R in my home office. They were just a little too big and heavy for the stands I had them on, and weren't suited for wall mounting. I did a quick search for "small surround speakers" here on Amazon, and these came up. They are a great size and a great price. Surround or surround back channels are the perfect application for these. The included wall mount brackets meant I could set them up behind the couch on the wall and wouldn't need to use stands. They are barely noticeable now. Just to try it out, I hooked them up to as the main L/R on the 2-ch set up in the dining room. They sound OK, but not unexpectedly these aren't well suited for that application. And I don't think they are intended for that. But they are great as surround speakers.
