The magnet held my fully loaded Glock 19 with Streamlight light with no problems. Rubber coating covers the entire magnet and appears to be durable. And bonus: it's made in the USA. Holds my Colt Government Model with a loaded mag in it (that's a 3 pound gun right there) with no drama. I hang mine vertical between two rifles. In this configuration, the best place to hang the gun from the magnet is where the cocking serrations are on the slide.
