The size turns out to be a big bonus because the player has a footprint about as big as an average paperback book and so can be put down anywhere, perched on the arm of a chair etc, without really getting in the way of anything else. Picture quality is good, and certainly good enough unless you're very serious about these things. Plenty loud enough; I use it mostly with headphones which works particularly well. UPDATE/HOT TIP: Use the remote control! The buttons and switches on the player itself allow you to perform all the basic functions without the remote, giving the impression you don’t need it. But I discovered that some of my DVDs wouldn’t play properly on this machine if I used the buttons on the player but would play fine if I used the remote.

This portable DVD player arrived and it's everything that I wanted! Something simple and compact, this is for my toddler to use for both in the house and when travelling. We have started to collect DVD'S from our childhood for our daughter and this is a great way of letting her watch them without being too sucked in by the big TV (she also doesn't use a tablet - this is great in it's place as it's more safe and she's only watching what we want). She's enjoyed using the controls herself and it's light enough for her to be able to carry. Although I will get a carry case for travelling. Really impressed with the sound quality, the picture and I have sampled some CD's in it which worked great. It's packaged really well and comes with everything listed in it's description. Overall, this is a real nod to my childhood and I'm so happy that my daughter gets to experience something that I treasured as a child.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great value for money

So, the screen isn't the greatest don't expect a ultra 4k panel, the sound isn't the loudest at full volume and you can hear the dvd spinning when it's on. However, with the negatives in mind, consider this. For what it is, a basic, cheap portable DVD player. With that in mind, for the money, you can't go wrong, the actual build quality feels surprisingly good, it's not the worst screen of all time and the sound quality is reasonable.
