Kurt BJC **Q: Are these Canare 4s11?** A: No. The canare 4s11 have 4 connectors wrapped in one jacket and are used for bi-wiring. These are terminated cables used for basic bi pol connections (1 red/1 black). Hope this helps. **Q: Will these banana plug cables work with vintage stereo receivers? Will they work if I cut the plugs off and use the bare wire for connection?** A: What sort of terminals do you have on your receiver? If you have screw-down type terminals in a terminal strip, we do offer connector configurations for those but we don't stock those at Amazon. The bare wire termination will tend to be sloppy on most terminal strips simply because the 10 AWG wire is pretty thick and it's hard to get all of it under the terminal screw unless you have very big terminals. If you have clip-type terminals on the receiver, one of our connector alternatives -- though also not available on Amazon -- is a pin-type termination for insertion into those. Or, bare wire works just fine, but not all terminals will accommodate a wire this large. **Q: Are these cable oxygen free cable?** A: Like most plastic-wrapped speaker cables at this price point - these cables can be almost completely oxygen free if you leave them out in Space for a while. However - If you are going to be using these cables inside a particle-accelerator or nuclear reactor, the copper cores of these cables likely contain too much oxygen for the job. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great value quality speaker cables *by M***T on December 22, 2020* Very nice quality speaker cables. I have used a lot of different speaker cables over the years from fairly “high end” to generic and the Blue Jean speaker cables are fantastic. I really like the locking banana plugs on these to keep them snug and tightly connected. I have Emotiva XPA monoblocks that have the positive and negative speaker terminals about one foot apart from each other. I had to do a slight modification to the speaker cables by pulling up the cable end jacket (more like a pair of pants) and then carefully cut the jacket surrounding the two wires back about seven inches. The “pants” part slipped right back over the main cable jacket and all was good to go. These cables are no nonsense neutral cables so they do not act as tone controls to alter the sound from my speakers. I am aware of the whole psycho acoustical effect experienced by audiophiles who claim that adding a certain cable, power cord or interconnect cable makes their rig sound better. But, the Blue Jean speaker cables did make a difference over the generic 16 gauge speaker wires I was using. Is it because the Blue Jeans are 10 gauge or the cold weld connections? I don’t know but I can say I would highly recommend these to any audiophile who wants a great speaker cable without spending a fortune. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Super great *by J***T on November 29, 2024* I've got some B and W speaker I hooked these up to and i was shocked! I never leave reviews on anything on amazon, but I felt I had to with these. I had some decent basic cables from Amazon before and had seen on facebook groups about people raving about these so I decided to give them a try. They are well worth the money. The sound is so much better, I was really surprised. I'd recommend these to anybody.
