I looked all over for something that was perfect and could not find what I wanted without spending over $300. I found theses and wanted more information about their construction. Looked up the company and their facebook page had a phone number. They actually answered the phone and discussed the products specifications and construction with me. Great customer service in this day and age! These are very strong brackets, which weigh quite a bit. I have no doubt about their 150 lb load rating EACH. I added a steel strap to the back for extra mounting points as I was anchoring into brick only. The previous mantel was light and not anchored into the studs. I wanted to cover the previous holes and add an anchor above my mantle. These would have easily held the weight of the new mantle if attached into studs for support, but the previous owner drilled where he wanted. Thank you for a well made product at a reasonable price.For those complaining about chips in paint. Mine were unchiped, but the box took a beating in the mail. Two heavy metal objects, no matter how much bubble wrap in a box, might get chipped.
