I turn it on and he comes right away asking for cuddles.. by the time the sound stops, he’s laying down by my side ready to sleep. I wouldn’t think twice before buying another one if it broke, but I’m sure this one will last a very long time. It’s easy to take off the battery and wash it, but I also haven’t done that too many times, since my cat doesn’t drag it around, it just stays by his side of the bed at all times so I can activate it whenever necessary. If you have a kitten, you need this toy more than any other.

**Q: size?**
A: This item is about 7" long by about 6" wide at the legs - and the body is about 1" thick not including the head.  It's small but a nice size for a small breed puppy.  My dog is 5 months old now (and about 5 1/2lbs) and still plays with hers.

**Q: Can a human cuddle with it too - sleep aid? I like the idea of a purring pillow since I used to cuddle with my kitten that I no longer have.**
A: The purring sound just lasts a couple minutes and you have to squeeze it again.

**Q: Want the RED dog ... How do I specify RED?**
A: I wouldn't buy it since you can't choose the color you want.

**Q: It says touch activated. Do I have to turn it on, or can the cat touching it turn it on on his own?**
A: You actually have to squeeze the nose area of the cat to turn on the purr sound.  My cat likes to have her cat treats on the Purr Pillow tummy while it purrs (I lay it on the floor).

Even with the battery dying, sounding a little weird and not loud enough, my cat would come to me when it started sounding. No matter what. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Purr sound is much too loud; kitten had to get used to it

Update: After a week or so, the kitten I bought this for decided she loved it. I had to regularly wash it because of how much she would suckle on it. It's now two months later, and she always wants this when she goes to sleep. It's mostly always on the bed in my office, and she comes in and kneads on it before falling asleep. If I don't notice she's come in, she'll meow at me to turn it on since she can't push the button hard enough. The other cats ignore it completely, so it's no longer scary for them, just not interesting. Upping to 4 stars since it just took her some time to get used to it. I would give 5 stars if it were easy enough to push the button for her to turn it on herself when she needs it and if it took AAA batteries or something more common. Original: I have an 8 week old kitten my neighbor brought me when he saw her thrown into the highway at 3 weeks old. While she has a wonderful playmate in the kitten about 3 months older that had followed me home on a walk the week before, she still shows signs of missing her mother when I cuddle her, so I thought the purring pillow would help for the times I can't cuddle her when she wants. Unfortunately, it's too loud and all of my cats hate it, with my male who has adopted the kittens trying to kill it and drag it away from them after seeing the kittens scared, not in a fun, playful way, but in a stressy, protective way, which I have to admit was cute and sweet. I don't have a cat's hearing and am not laying my head on it, and I think it's much too loud and sounds almost more mechanical than real because of that. It also doesn't look anything like the picture either, which they don't care about, but it's not nearly as cute as I expected it to be. I'll give it 3 stars because the baby kitten is sleeping cuddled up to it as I write this as long as I don't turn it on, but it's disappointing to not be able to give her as much comfort as I had hoped.
