We’ve had a problem with that on another swing I purchased.** A: No I haven’t noticed them being sticky. My swing is on our three season porch hanging off a beam so not outside in direct sunlight but it warms up and is sunny on the porch. They must be at least 6 feet each.(guessing since they are at my son's house).I bought awesome thick rope attachments that bind around the tree branch and then connect with the chains with carabiners.
