I have some that are a 1/2” wide can fit into the tiniest crevasse and I have some as long as my arm that could be used as a prop in a fencing scene. Touché. I have cheap flimsy ones and ones from big box stores and ugly-but-sturdy ones from restaurant-supply vendors. Besides a fat-bellied Bob Kramer, there’s nothing in the kitchen that passes my palms more frequently. When I got the package from mailbox I gasped, “Oh my.” I knew the package to merely contain three spatulas, but the package felt like it contained a tire iron. I was immediately impressed and excited by the heft and knew in the movie version of my life, whereupon I have been un-alived by blunt force trauma to the head, that these spatulas may in fact be bagged and tagged as evidence as the possible weapon. Obviously I am taking some hyperbolic artistic liberty -but they are in fact hefty and seemingly very well-made. I get excited by things that do the things they say they are gonna do, and then are also manufactured and produced well. They are sleek and seamless and black, like a lovers shadow on a night with the closest, plumpest moon. I love them. The are hefty and substantial due the steel core, but not overly stiff. The silicone is not floppy. It holds up to 600-degree temperatures.
