Review: For the stove top smoker - I bought this for the stove top smoker. It works great. Plenty of smoke and great flavor. It does look like sawdust as does all the stove top smoker woods. If you are looking for wood chips, try the barbeque chips. I have not tried this on the outside grill yet.

**Q: Can these wood chips be used in maze smoke generators?**
A: Not sure - I used them in an electric smoker to smoke salmon - worked wonderful.  But I have an electric smoker/grill that uses pellets - and these can't be used with that grill.  I would hesitate to  use in your smoke generator unless the generator instructions say .  Would hate to damage it. Chips would totally screw up my electric smoker/grill, for certain.

A: I don't know what a smoking gun is, but is you buy the fine chips they are like saw dust

**Q: What wood pellets work for smoking salmon works best?**
A: I am from the Pacific Northwest and have smoked salmon for years. The best chips for salmon is alder, next best apple.

I bought this for the stove top smoker. It works great. Plenty of smoke and great flavor. It does look like sawdust as does all the stove top smoker woods. If you are looking for wood chips, try the barbeque chips. I have not tried this on the outside grill yet.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Exactly what i was looking for: sawdust type wood for cold smoking

I specifically purchased this product because I was looking to get into cold smoking. The name of the product is not really correct, since these are not wood chips at all. This is finely ground sawdust, which is exactly what I was looking for. I used this in my 5x8 A-MAZ-N smoker tray. One row took about 3 hours. Considering the size of the bag and how much smoking you do, you actually get a lot of wood out of it. Very pleased with this product and will continue purchasing it through here as needed.
