What I needed 6 years ago when I bought it was just the round lid/hatch, the original was missing or had blown off during and outing. So the boat had the receiver (threads) to screw down a new hatch. The red ring is a collar around the lid so as you turn the red ring you are screwing the lid (hatch) down to the boat's existing deck plate.
