The circuit diagrams do not show an off position. Does it have "off" or not** A: 4 pulls on the chain step through the speeds from off to ON (low) 2nd pull mid speed 3rd pull high speed 4th pull is back to OFF. If you use a 4 wire 3 speed (4 speed if you count off) then make a map of the wire color by position starting with 1 at red shown here next to chain (mine is Tan), then L (Line) shown black here, then 3 white here (mine is Gray) then 2 blue here (mine is Purple). Use wire nuts to connect new switch to existing wires. **Q: My old switch is ze-208s6. i have a ze268s2. are these compatible?** A: That I can't tell you but is I know I've bought 2 switches for 2 different fans and they have NOT worked out.
