Although it's made for someone with a baby, I use it when traveling with older kids, and it works well because it has lots of smaller places to stash snacks, tissues, wallet, phone, book, etc., but still has a large cavity in the center that can fit extra clothes, a jacket, or bulkier items. Things I like about it:1. Many diaper backpacks have an outer pocket that's made specially to hold a baby wipes dispenser, and it's wide open in the front, making it pretty much useless for anything except wipes. The wipes pocket on this one has a center zipper, so if you keep it zipped, you can use the pocket for anything, which makes it much more useful.2. It has a "secret" flat zipped pocket at the back that sits against your back, making it great to put things like passport, phone, small wallet, etc., that you want to protect from theft.3. The top opens up to enable you to see the entire inner contents at a glance--no rooting around trying to feel for what you need. The top is also slanted, so a friend or partner can easily stand behind you and open it up to take something out without you having to remove the backpack.4.
