**Q: Do you aim the ASUS logo at the area you are trying to boost or aim the logo away from the area you are trying to boost?**
A: You aim the logo AWAY from the area you're trying to boost.  I've tested this using speedtest.net, and found that aiming the logo away would give me double the mbps.They really should put instructions on the box, but I guess they figured you'd have the router lying flat, which would force you put the logo on the backside of the router.This might be why so many people are reporting no change at all, since I've only seen it suggested here that you face the logo towards the area you're trying to hit.

**Q: The RT-66U has "Beam Packaging". Using non-standard antenna configuration may not be a good idea. Eh?**
A: It should work great since beam forming is merely constructive phase alignment it should function regardless of the antenna config as long as directional antennas were pointed in the same basic direction. I would expect a big gain at 1 antenna and more gains if the antennas are all pointed the same direction. The problem would be if you used forming with multiple antennas pointed different directions you would see much less gain and maybe even signal degradation.The Wikipedia article is really pretty good on this if you are already familiar with phase array interference and amplification.

**Q: How do you aim the antenna? Which is the "front end" of the antenna that you would point toward the direction of lower signal quality?**
A: In my tests the Asus label side is the back and blank side is forward for signal direction.

**Q: Would I need 3 antennae to improve all signal, or can I just put one 5dbi antenna on a particular port to get better 802.11 AC coverage?**
A: FWIW, 802.11N and AC routers really *do* need multiple antennas to take full advantage of the technology available (e.g. MIMO). Having multiple antennas can enable the device to receive/transmit simultaneously & also helps to filter interference/noise (e.g. caused by multipath propagation). That all can translate to improved Tx/Rx speeds, and better range & signal quality (i.e. fewer dropouts, better SNR).I'm not saying you need to buy three of these to replace the originals, but you should generally keep the original _quantity_ of antennas connected for best performance with the radios in the hardware. (Assuming the company engineered the device properly, and Asus usually seems to do a good job of that).
