Review: Awesome printer, easy to setup and use! Nice work Epson on creating an nice and easy to use printer! - The printer arrived fast from desertcart and the WiFi connected flawlessly via "wsp" button on the first attempt (dgnd3700 router).. My business cards and invoices came to life and look amazing. The Intuitive menus are easy to navigate through and I recommend this for home/office users. First setup the wireless or usb connection, next a webpage will populate on your computer showing many features to install, select updates and firmware first thing to update the printer and pc with necessary components and apps...easy to do! The remote email printing is nice feature; Epson will utilize an email address like oxoxoxox@Epson.com to forward emails to the printer to print out (if the power in standby mode and connected wireless). I liked this feature so much I purchased a second printer for my parents, now they can receive my hand selected emails of entertainment, recipes, weather events or important emails. The Iprint app was simplistic to add to my S4 phone, now I can print photos, documents, scan a document to my S4 while connected on the home network. Cons: I only use the printer to print wireless; if you want to send/scan/copy to PC you have to connect a USB cable, small paper tray. Pros: Compact foot print, covers fold up nice, prints quick, easy to load cartridges, easy access inside of printer and back side, CD/DVD printer tray included to print on ink jet type CD/DVD, easy wireless connection to your PC (multitude of wireless setup configurations) Email printing and Iprint app's are just a few of things you can loaded from the setup webpage. As a technology manager this printer is awesome!
Review: 3 units and it is still not working - To keep me from going postal on a printer (Office space style!) I am writing a rare product review while on hold with EPSON support... SUMMARY: Printer broke. EPSON sent 2(!) replacement printers that did not work. Waiting for printer #4... DETAILS: I bought it in October 2013. Supposedly a consumer reports favorite. It worked quite nicely at first, except that it did require ink cartridge change after about 50 pages. (The support claimed this was a first-time thing as the ink was used to fill the pipes although I am not too convinced about that.). In January 2014, it stopped working. The papers were no longer being pulled up from the tray. After a long trouble shooting session with EPSON phone support, they agreed to ship a replacement unit. 2nd unit arrives including new ink cartridges. This printer only printed blue. I called EPSON support again. After a long time on the phone they wanted to ship me a 3rd unit. 3rd unit arrives. They promised overnight, but it took 3 days. I am using all new cartridges that came in the box. It works for 20 (not more!) regular text pages. Then I get a message saying I need to replace the large black ink cartridge! I do so. It continues to work for black & white for another 5 pages. I try to do a color copy. Only some colors are present. I perform the "clean nozzle head" operation twice. It's better but still not OK. I am thinking EPSON supplied stale ink cartridges so now I replace all of them with new original cartridges. Same result. I call support. After some trouble shooting they want to send me a 4th unit. At this point, I realize that the problem might be due to EPSON sending refurbished replacement units. Perhaps old ink is clogging the nozzles. I point that out and I ask for some kind of compensation. The rep contacts customer relations. That's where we are now....! Update: After 20 minute wait, I they promise to make an exception and -- ta-da -- actually send a new printer. They will also send 2 packs of cartridges. UPDATE 5/20, 2015: ------------------------------------------- So, the fourth printer worked. Still working, it prints nice-looking pages but I can't say I like this printer very much. For example: - About 1-2 times per month it goes to an "offline" status. When this happens the support guy said the remedy is uninstall and then re-install the printer driver again. No idea why this happens. - It has an automatic software update function which is so annoying that I had to turn it off. It would appear once a week at least and then take forever to run. - It stops for paper jam (1 of 10), but when I check there is nothing there. I re-start and sometimes that works. - All these plastic flaps and drawers are flimsy. I always think I might break something when moving it around. Although it does work so far. In retrospect I should have bought a sturdy printer that just produces a basic OK black-white print but does it every time! Do they exist? And then another printer (like this EPSON) for photos etc. UPDATE 10/4, 2016: ------------------------------------------- The printer worked OK up until about 6 months ago although it still consumes lots of ink. In But six months the issue with "printer going off-line" started to happen about every other time I use it. I already called Epson support on that two years ago and their solution was to re-install the printer (i.e. via the Windows control panel) which often means manually typing in the IP address. Sometimes I cannot even do the uninstall. Tried some tips on online forums but to no avail. Do I need to get another printer before paper becomes obsolete?

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Flexible and useful
*by W***E on February 1, 2014*

I got this to replace an older Canon all-in-one printer. I must confess that I've been a longtime fan of Canon, and have been ever since they changed the game by introducing their Bubblejet printers. Those made dot matrix printers obsolete by giving you near laser printer quality from an inkjet. Their built in scanners and printers have also been steadily improving. More recently I've been using an Epson B11B198011 Perfection V600 Photo Scanner and have found Epson's scanner quality to be remarkable. The scanner in this unit won't rival that one, since it lacks the capability to scan slides and negatives, and doesn't have a second infrared element to eliminate dust. But for office use, having something with a flat bed scanner and a good duplex sheet feeder is far more practical. Although Canon found their sheet feeder very reliable in tests, I found that in real world usage when you are scanning stacks of paper that came in the mail folded in thirds, the Epson scanner works better without jamming or having paper fall off after being scanned. The print quality is also quite good, but more importantly for me is that it offers the flexibility to print from just about anything. I can print from any PC on my network, from my iPad, iPhone, Android phone or even print by sending it an email. I can print using the cloud with Google. I can even print on printable CDs with ease. With my older Canons, they were designed for CDs but didn't offer that feature in the US. Printing CDs required getting a European CD caddy and applying an unofficial EU firmware patch. Canon was also an early adopter of separate ink cartridges for each color with print heads separate from the ink cartridge, which is now fairly standard and has been a long time feature of Epson printers. Nevertheless, ink isn't exactly cheap. The display is more intelligent than past units and makes it easy to copy, fax, or scan directly to any computer on the network with drivers installed. And scanning directly from a PC can be done with a utility that can be set for simple use or more complex but highly tailorable use, depending on your needs. The unit has a slot for SD cards, which also makes them available over the network for reading and writing. All in all, this gives you a lot of capability for the money, a lot of flexibility, and does it all with a very small footprint. Although it won't replace every printer and scanner I own, it makes for a very good home office tool.
