The pole was delivered in excellent condition and seems to be of very good quality and also very sturdy. Much more so than the ones you find at discount stores and home improvement stores. It is an attractive alluminum pole.I found the assembly to be very easy. Screw the two halves of the pole together, unscrew the plastic nuts from the plastic rings, insert the plastic nuts through the grommet holes of the flag and slightly back into the rings. Slide the rings onto the pole and them tighten the screws to secure the flag to the flagpole. You do not use the swivel hook/snap clip that are already attached to the flagpole. Took me all of 2 minutes. No instructions were provided but my packing list gave me a link to the [...] for instructions.Time will tell what the useful life of plastic rings and screws (and the finish on the plastic decorative ball) will be but the mechanics of this pole seem like it should keep the flag from wrapping around the pole. I did see on the USflags website that replacement plastic rings and screws were available for $1.45. Shipping charges for those, however, was $5.95.May 6, 2012 - I'm upgrading to 5 stars after having installed this pole 2 months ago. It works beautifully! We've had both high winds and soft breezes recently but the flag never got tangled on the pole. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good, Basic Flagpole *by T***Y on Reviewed in the United States πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ on July 19, 2008* This is a good, basic flagpole, designed to fit into a standard 1" bracket. I'm using it with the "Valley Forge 60753 1" Flag Bracket", also sold by Flags Unlimited. Note this pole is white, so if you're using it as a companion to the company's "Spinning Flagpole 3x5 U.S. USA American Flag Kit", which has a silver pole, you'll have a slight mismatch.One reviewer said he needed a zip tie to attach the bottom grommet for his flag. Errr, not exactly - the problem is, there are no instructions included (who needs instructions for a flagpole, right??), but the flag attachment isn't intuitively obvious. There are two plastic rings, each with a plastic screw that tightens the ring to the pole. You have to completely remove the screw, insert it through the grommet, and then screw it back into the ring. Like I said, it's not obvious, and the flag hangs a little funny that way. But only if you look reeeaaaallll close. Basically, it works fine once you figure out the trick.
