When filling in the mold, make sure to fill mixture to about the start of the ears (remember not all the way though, to allow the mixture to grow properly in the oven). It takes about 40 mins to an hour to bake thoroughly (good to test readiness with toothpicks). Lastly, when the cake is baked, make sure to let the cake completely cool off with the mold before taking it out for best results. Followed close to the recipe which calls for three, 6oz jello packs and 12(!) Tablespoons of food gelatin as well as 2 cups of water. I've made jello candy before so that seemed like ALOT of gelatin on top of the jello mix. I only used 8 packs of gelatin and it came out just as chewy as a regular gummy bear candy. I feel like I could have even used only 6. I recommend using a clean spoon and clean off the top of the mix after it cools slightly before pouring it to elimate alot of the air bubbles that form of the top. You will get a more clear product as a result. I will def be trying a rainbow effect, or maybe a giant chocolate version, lots of things you can do besides gummy bears. Its also freezer and oven safe so you can bake with it or make giant ice cubes.
