The blue is not as dark a cobalt as pictures look, but I still liked the blue a lot. Every piece that survived is beautiful. I ordered three sets to have plenty, and unfortunately four of the 12 bowls broke in shipping. But Amazon gave me a refund on one of the sets without return so I got to keep all the unbroken pieces, which was awesomely fantastic. Good show! I got these to supplement another Platzgraff set of dishes, and these are much lighter weight overall, which I appreciate. They are versatile and could be used everyday like we do and for special occasions. My only issue with this is I ordered two sets and one set was nearly perfect, maybe one broken dish. The second set had several broken dishes, mostly bowls. I submitted a replacement and this time I received more broken bowls as well as a broken plate and saucer.
