Also, detach nozzle occasionally and leave bottle part to drain. Moist and humid areas encourage unpleasant things to accumulate inside. **Q: Do you find that it cleans your bum 100% without TP? For me it seems to clean 90% but then l still need TP to finish the job** A: (Unless you're in the woods,) first wipe with TP. Flush the toilet to avoid contamination of the spout. Fill the bottle (I use warm water.) Whenever you lift the bottle, hold your finger over the vent on the bottom to prevent leaking on your floor. Set the bottle in a small dish near your feet to catch leaks when you set it down again. **Q: Do you get up and fill it after you finish? or do you fill it before you start and then have to sit and hold your finger on the hole?** A: It depends on the bathroom layout. If the sink is next to toilet so I can reach while sitting, I fill it after I'm finished, and then usually fill it a second time to make sure I'm all clean. If the sink is too far to reach from the toilet, I fill it before, then I have to get up to fill it again, which sucks, but whatever. The hole on the bottom isn't supposed to leak, but I do get a slow drip from mine, but the floor is water proof, so I don't really care if there are a few drops on the floor, so I don't hold my finger on it. If I cared about a drip, I'd get a paper towel or rag to set it on for it to leak onto. **Q: What kind of plastic is this made of? There should be a number or letters on the bottom.** A: You're right, there should be some numbers, a symbol, etc. but I can tell you just from having one that it's something very light and pliable, because you have to be able to squeeze it, and it has virtually no odor at, even when you put warm water in it (unlike many plastic products you buy). Needs a cap for the bottle when traveling. *by P***N on 14 September 2023* This inexpensive portable "bidet" works well. I have taken it traveling and therein lies my only problem. Unless you dry the bottle out completely, the residual water in it will get out of the bottle as it is moved around in your bag or luggage and can leak out of the provided travel bag. A simple fix would be to provide a cap for the bottle to put on when carrying it for travel. My solution is to put it in a Ziploc bag. A simple cap would be a better solution. I'm trying out bottle caps from other, usually recycled, bottles I have to see if one fits. One feature that I find better than the powered ones. I have a much more expensive Toto - it also works well, but needs a battery and the stream of water from the Brondell can be made much stronger depending on how hard you squeeze it. Just discovered (8/17) that the cap from the small bottle of Fiji water (the 500mL bottle - probably the same size cap as the larger bottle as well) fits the Brondell bottle and does form a seal. I tried several other caps, some with the same thread pitch, but either slightly too large in diameter (the Nalgene 1 ounce bottle) or the opposite - too small. So if Brondell does not have a cap, or does not make one, just save a bottle cap from a bottle of Fiji water if you need to cap the Brondell bottle when traveling. Note that I am NOT suggesting that you travel with the bottle full; it just keeps the residual water from getting your bag wet. Found one better. While the top from the 500 mL Fiji water seals (you can test this by squeezing the empty bottle and listening for air escaping), it is very slightly larger in diameter than the threads of the bottle. Today, I happened to buy a 500 mL plastic bottle of Perrier. It was the carbonated one and yes, we recycle all of our plastic bottles. I thought that the cap looked about right for the Blondell bottle, so I tried it. It fits better than the Fiji cap - the thread diameter is a good match for the Blondell bottle - no wobble and seals well.
