The batteries have evolved a little, increasing the mAhr output over the years. For me energizer is a trustworthy brand. My "charger" is also quite old. I think it works great. In fact, I do not see a similar rapid charger for sale these days. Perhaps I'm fortunate. Pros: - name brand - quality - great for home electronics, remotes, Wii, game controllers, etc - quick recharge if you have the correct charger Cons: - slow recharge with the slower charger - a little on the pricey side to start with.
