This addition to Beseler's family of high-quality American made enlargers, the CADET II is ideally suited for both beginners and experienced amateur 35mm photographers. Its compact, lightweight design, plus ease of assembly, setup and storage offers the perfect solution for the temporary or traveling darkroom. The CADET II comes equipped ready for use, complete with a 50mm Beslar lens, 35mm negative / slide carrier, a filter drawer for 3" x 3" color or variable contrast printing filters, 2-1/4" optical glass condenser, and a 14-1/4" x 11-3/4" white laminated baseboard for enlargements up to 8" x 10". The reversible column allows for floor projection and large magnifications. The column features a counter-balanced elevation control, as well as, an elevation scale for speedy print sizing.

You'll be hard pressed to find an enlarger at a better price. I figured that the only way I would be able to get one cheaper would be to go to a university auction, as many colleges and universities are using digital photography exclusively. Actually, that's how I did get a Cadet II, and for the rock-bottom price of forty dollars. The best aspects of the Cadet II (other than the fact that it works and is readily affordable) is the fact that it really may be the best enlarger for the person who doesn't have a proper darkroom. I use the laundry room in my house, which is located in the basement. It's pitchblack there, and I have the basin and everything else I need... but the room's got to go back to being a laundry room when I'm done. The Cadet II is light, not feather-light and fragile. But it's easy to tote. It can be broken down for better storage as well. It has held up to lots of use well. The only problem I have with Cadet II is that it can't do 8"x14"... but it's better to have saved money now and be able to work in my own makeshift darkroom than sit around dreaming about having one. I figure that maybe in a few years I'll build a proper darkroom in the garage or something. Maybe then I'll upgrade my equipment. I highly recommend the Cadet II to any aspiring photographer, novice, or any photographer who is compromised by space or has need of a portable darkroom.

**Q: Can I use this enlarger if I want to print using 6x6 film?**
A: Theoretically yes , in reality no , not is it's original condition . You would have to replace the negative carrier with one that has a larger opening . I wouldn't suggest it and the cost might not be worth it .

**Q: Does this enlarger have a lens attached?**
A: Mine came with the lens attached.

**Q: Does it hav a built in timer, or what do you recommend I buy?**
A: Doesn't have a built in timer but any kitchen timer will work just as well. This enlarger is great for wreck relational purposes and there is a starter kit out there u can get all other material needed to start a darkroom. They have it on amazon I believe

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great starter enlarger.

Performs very well. If i had the option to buy it again i would buy the enlarger only. alot of things from the kit felt flimsy and dinky. the timer was the worst. it seriously looked like something you would get out of a happymeal. those are my only complaints, the enlarger itself is great.
