But my thighs are on the normal to smaller side. I got the large, and they barely fit (but it worked). Heavier thighs might not work. I found them comfortable enough to wear all day around the house. I went to my Cardiac and Vascular doctor who advised me to wear these stockings during every day for three months, but should not be worn at night. I purchased the Medium size that were tight and I immediately no longer had pain. I then ordered a Large size (to have a second pair) but they slid down my legs and the pain returned; so I returned the Large and bought the Medium again. It takes awhile getting the socks on, so I gather the sock in my hands and put the open toe onto my foot first and then pull the wrinkles up to the top (just below the pelvis). Up to this point, I have gotten by with $15 knee-high compression stockings, but I decided to give these a try based on their positive reviews, and because I now need thigh high compression stockings, but don't want to spent $90 a pair for just a month of use. I ordered the same amount of pressure I'd had with my cheap-o knee-highs (15-20 mmHg).Suffice it to say, I'm disappointed. These might work for other people, but they definitely don't work for me. They don't provide nearly the compression of my cheaper stockings, and the gripping dots at the top of my thigh to hold them in place left awful red marks and were painful when I went to remove the stockings.
