I bought it to transfer paint from a 5gal bucket to my sprayer container and by sucking the paint was exhausting and time consuming so I just poured the paint instead. I want to store a viscous product (wax/oil) that will harden if left exposed to air even in its own jar** A: it is NOT ideal to extract air. You may consider a vacuum sealer **Q: Will this work with pool chlorine?** A: I'm not sure, but if it's thicker than water probably not.
