The beetles are attracted to it and fall down into the bag where most get trapped. These Rescue bags work much better than the Spectracide Bag-a-bug traps. **Q: Flying beetles are attracted to my patio light and come inside when I open the sliding door. Will this help the problem when hung ?** A: It should help , l set a couple around the garden and it trapped 100's of Japanese beetles **Q: What do you do with the bugs when you empty the trap? Since I assume they are still alive, and you don’t want them going back to your plants...?** A: I dump the now dead bugs into a small trash bag, seal tight just in case any are still alive, and let the trash man take they away. **Q: Do these bags have a drain hole when it rains?** A: The rain water flows through the bottom closure.
