With a modern scoring system and no assembly required, Dixit is the ultimate party and family game that sparks creativity and social connection. ## Description One player is the storyteller for the turn and looks at the images on the 6 cards in her hand. From one of these, she makes up a sentence and says it out loud (without showing the card to the other players). Each other player selects the card in their hands which best matches the sentence and gives the selected card to the storyteller, without showing it to the others. The storyteller shuffles her card with all the received cards. All pictures are shown face up and every player has to bet upon which picture was the storyteller's. If nobody or everybody finds the correct card, the storyteller scores 0, and each of the other players scores 2. Otherwise the storyteller and whoever found the correct answer score 3. Players score 1 point for every vote for their own card. The game ends when the deck is empty or if a player scores 30 points. In either case, the player with the most points wins the game. The expansion packs are just new picture cards. You would still use the board, the cards that come with the set and voting wheels. The box actually has several storage for new cards. Great game. **Q: Is this the base game?** A: Yes. There is an updated scoring mechanism, but it’s the same base game, same cards. **Q: It shows two different boards. What is the difference?** A: Since no one else answered your question... the first picture that shows the square, blue scoring board with the dials next to it is what I believe *should* come in the 2021 refresh version of the game, which is what this product listing is. That's according to Asmodee's (the American distributor) own website. The longer, orange scoring board comes in an older version of the game which this listing should not be. **Q: What is the difference from the previous version?** A: The board is a bit smaller - the process of each player selecting the round’s card is much smoother thanks to a new game piece.
