My husband made these to cover our sliding glass doors. Only negative is instructions were not helpful at all. Parts list didn't even tell you what parts were. But, we figured it out and turned out great. Review: Good product, had some issues installing though - We are very pleased with our bypass kit. We were concerned that the quality might not be great, but it's no different than something similar you would find at Lowes or HD. The black powder coat seems to hold up really well. With that said, we had some issues, not necessarily the kits fault. First, this was for a closet door. The studs are sixteen on center, but not for the span of 8' in my case. They start sixteen on center again after my closet framing. Cripple studs above the door weren't where we needed them and neither were the wall studs, so we had to reinforce everything. It was all hidden by the board we used to mount the kit or in the closets case, we reinforced from the inside. The kit requires everything to be perfectly sixteen inches on center, so after you have the right framing in place, you have to pay extra attention to ensuring all the mounting hardware will line up correctly. Second issue is that my ceilings were too short to mount this the way they show you in pictures on desertcart and in their instructions with the doors I wanted. Also, I like closets framed out and I wanted the door to hide it all when closed. I mounted them differently to get more height and to be able to use actual barn doors (which are a lot taller than normal doors). Again, an issue with my ceiling, not necessarily the kit. I do however like how we mounted the doors better than how they show you. We have an area where our washer and dryer are in the upstairs of our townhome. There used to be bi-fold doors that we removed years ago so the washer and dryer were completely visible. We did not want to put the bi-fold doors back and love the barn door look so decided to put barn doors in this area. Due to the space we could not have just one door and needed a bypass type door and we found this bypass barn door hardware. We have installed it and have the doors up and we think it looks great. The only problem we had is that we did not realize how much "barn" doors cost but we found suitable substitutes that look great. We have to paint the doors but they work and we no longer have to look at the washer and dryer.
