Our low fire glazes are perfect for school projects, classrooms, studios, and potters who do not fire at high temperature. These low fire glazes are the potter’s choice when looking for a wide palette of colors, like celadon, lively reds, deep greens, bright blues. Our mid fire glazes offer similar ranges but also introduce interesting effects and tonality not available in low fire glazes. How to Get Great Results with Our Glazes Mix Well Before Using Sometimes glaze contents will settle. That's normal! Just like house paints, ceramic glazes need to be fully mixed to ensure smooth consistency. We recommend mixing well for at least 1-2 minutes. Choose How to Apply You can apply glazes either by (a) dipping your bisqued piece into the glaze or (b) brushing it on. Our glazes are ready to apply with a brush. Granted I left it sit in the jar in my studio for a year before using, but this glaze was unrecoverable....tried using a wire whisk, a stirring stick first to remedy the chunkiness...when this failed to achieve a smooth brushable consistency, I tried a small handheld submersible blender from the kitchen. This also failed, so tried adding some water...which just stayed water and wouldn't mix with the glaze components. I am using this small quantity to teach others, and we have no sieve to remove the largest particles.
