I actually could not get the laces to go through the metal piece so I just double ties the laces for my dad. He loves how easy he can slip in and out his shoes. **Q: High-top Nikes: I’d like to know if the laces were long enough to fill most of the holes on a sport high top?** A: The laces are definitely long enough, but I made the mistake of cutting them too short and the laces kept unraveling and I wasn’t able to place the black caps back on. Lasted my daughter over a year and they still look great. Durability is great. She is able to just slip her shoes on with no problem. I bought her a new pair for this year’s gym shoes and they are easy to install. The size given has a lot of room for bigger shoes. The elasticity is PERFECT. Stretchy enough to easily slip on and off, but doesn’t make your tennis shoes feel like they’re coming off when walking. I’ll be honest I’m not a runner so I haven’t sprinted in them or anything. I teach kindergarten so I have had to run a little to catch a few kids here and there and my shoes never felt like I was going to run out of them! The fasteners have stayed in tact and I’ve never had to tighten them after 7 months. They have held up extremely well and have now outlived my tennis shoes. I am returning the other laces I’ve tried and reordering these in several colors.
