This statement is not true. When the package arrived I plugged in one unit and my dog jumped up and ran over to me, looking concerned. I unplugged the unit and later tried it again with the same response from my dog. He definitely heard the noise. I contacted Amazon the same day to see about returning the item, and learned a few days later that I would have to ship it to China at my expense and this would be very expensive. Apparently no other recourse is available.
