Review: Once you try the FIDO U2F Security Key you wont want to use your Authenticator unless your on the go without your FIDO U2F key! - RE: FIDO U2F Security Key, Thetis This U2F key is the one to have laying on the desk in a small, horizontal usb hub, where it is thick enough so as to not wobble downward and stress it and the hub too. This key works great and flawlessly btw; I put a Yubi UF2 Key that is setup for all the same accounts on my key ring, for portable needs, but at the office (in a secure environment) or at home this is the one to have on the desk in a four port hub because it's thick enough not to rock downward when pushed so it doesn't stress anything in the process of pushing the 2FA button downward. These U2F keys are vastly less of a hassle and much more simple and easy to use compared to Authenticator (2FA) and all it's competitors where one has to look up a code on their phone or tablet and then input that one time code into their PC for 2FA. These are also way more secure in many ways than Authenticator and it's competitors is while setting up such a thing, as well as relying on many servers at many companies not to be compromised are all security risks! As always have a backup key ready in case you lose your working key! Compared to using Authenticator with this I just push the button on this usb key and instantly your most secure 2FA type of method is done with this physical U2F usb key instead of say with Authenticator! **Q: I currently use a Yubikey but this is a less expensive option. Will this work with lastpass?**
A: Does LastPass support FIDO/U2F authentication with Yubikey?

We currently do not.

Once FIDO/U2F is supported in all major browsers (the U2F standard is currently only supported by the Chrome browser, with Firefox support in beta), we will add LastPass support for this MFA. Please see the bug report for Firefox here - and post your request to add this support.

In the mean time, users can configure their keys to Mode 6 to work with both as mentioned here

If your key does not support an OTP mode, it will not currently work with LastPass.

**Q: I have two gmail accounts, how many fido sticks do i need to protect two gmail account. do i need to buy 2 ?**

**Q: Is this company a known and reputable company for this type of security?**
A: So, I was trying to research this company. They have a website. That seems like it. I can't find Thetis on Linkedin (who is the CEO of Thetis?), they don't have any social media presence, their website has opaque domain registration. They AREN'T listed on the Fido Alliance website, as a lot of other FIDO keys are. I contacted them for support yesterday and haven't heard back (seen other people say the company is unresponsive). The more research I do, and the less info I find, the more nervous I am about using this product.

**Q: Does it work on android?**
A: Since this is a USB-A FOB, you would need an adapter that goes from USB-A to USB-C or Micro-USB, and there are no guarantees that with an adapter it will work. (Some do, and some don't.)

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ It Works

There isn't much to say about a security key. Either it works... or it doesn't (and is thereby defective). There isn't any extra features to compare or specs to evaluate. That said, the key works and was cheaper than other offerings. Tested with Google and Twitter. I originally purchased it for extra security for logging into windows. However, it seems I did not complete my research thoroughly enough and as of the writing of this review Windows 10 does not support keys for login (even if it has an option for it in the settings). That is a flaw of Microsoft and not this key. It is, however, something to keep in mind if that is what you are looking for. Website login integration is (where supported) very easy though may require extra steps. That is, once again, a reflection of those particular sites and not the key. The key itself is built sturdy out of rigid plastic and some sort of metal sheath. When opened, the sheath softly (yet firmly) clicks into place and has a good feel. The button has a nice tactile click and it fits VERY SNUG in a USB port. Almost too snug for my liking but I suppose that is the price one pays for durability. I do wish the hole punch for placing on a keychain or lanyard was a touch bigger. Does not fit on my keychain. Also, when closed the sheath does not feel like it firmly clicks in place in the closed position like it does when opened. But other than that, it works which is all one can really ask from such a product.
