It lasted about 8 months then would not stay out. Threads stripped or something. I ordered a mew one right away and took it out of the box and the threads were already stripped or whatever made it not stay open. Then they wanted me to pay to send them back. I really want to get another one because my husband loved it so much but I am afraid I would have 3 useless canes sitting in my bedroom instead of 2. I liked that the tips were 8mm threaded. But the problems showed up right away. First, although you extend it, the sections will collapse very easily. I would pull each section very hard to attempt to lock it in place, but to know avail. And then, if i would retract the cane, I had to use pliers to loosen the locking ring to extend it back out!
