All of the hinges were in perfect condition; no marks, scratches or bends in the metal. They are standard thickness, as expected. The screws are the standard size screws for doors. Some other reviewers mention they wish the screws were longer; however, this size is the standard size screw and you should expect them to send the standard size; not longer than standard. If you are not comfortable with the standard screws, then get longer. But, you're using 3 screws per hinge-side. You shouldn't be hanging off your doors and 2 hinges with 3 screws per hinge-side should hold the weight of a hollow or solid core door without issues. But, if you want to hang off your doors or have kids that could potentially swing on them, then go for longer screws at your own cost.In my particular case, I did NOT remove or even attempt to remove the pin from the hinges. I didn't need to. I was replacing old doors in my house so used the existing slots of the old hinges on the door frames and measured them to match the new doors. Then I applied the new hinges to the frames and had my son hold the door up to the new slots I cut in the door and attached. So, no need to remove the hinges.I got the set of 18 and will buy this same brand if I need more in the future (regardless of count).On another note, I bought a door hinge jig that I used to cut out the slots for the hinges with my router and the hinges fit perfectly with the template-cut slots I made. So, I know they were machined properly. I highly recommend a jig for cutting hinge slots in doors if you own a router. Nice finish and all fit and operate perfectly.Hinge pins remove easily for adding doorstops. Screws match nicely and are of equally high quality.As some other reviewers mentioned good to grab a few inch long stainless #8 or #10 screws for the inevitably handful of prior door or jamb holes that may be stripped out.I used a drill to remove and install 84 of these as replacements for dated and tired shiny brass. It's a heavy duty, quality hinge. Some say it sticks or makes a sound when operating. It's a standard pin hing, not a ball bearing! A drop of oil and it's good for many years of silent, smooth service. So much nicer than the old paint covered brass builder grade hinges that were installed in our "custom" home. Bought 70 or them and not a single problem. The screws are exactly the size that the builder hinges use. #8 3/4" screws. After years of service and drying of the wood some of the screws will strip when you reinstall. Just drop by your local big box store and buy some stainless #10 1" screws to replace the ones that strip and you are good to go.
