It has a normal cell battery that is coincidently the same cell battery that my car FOB uses. I can buy that size Cell Battery at any Walmart or Target or Auto Store. Those smaller cell batteries are hard to find, and require buying more than I will need at one time. So, I am tickled pink that this uses a common and easy to find size. It works well. Well made. Excellent price. I am very happy, and BTW, I bought another one so that I gave to a family member where I cook sometimes. I’m very happy with it.
